New Podcast, Too Many Rough Suppliers...

It’s been a fun week for me personally, having launched a new podcast with my friends Rob Bates and Edahn Golan. We’re “The Diamond Dudes,” and I think we offer something that’s been missing in the industry for some time: unfiltered, opinionated discussion about diamond industry developments, with a bit of banter mixed in. It aligns closely with what I’m building at The Diamond Press.

You can listen to the first episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music or watch us on  YouTube. We break down ‘Desert Diamonds, World Diamond Day and the Sale of De Beers,’ with a few tangents into other topics.

Read more about the podcast here: The Diamond Dudes Launches

I’m also hoping to resume my Diamond Debates series soon, so watch this space. This blog first appeared in the April 20 Pressing Matters Executive Memo. Read the full memo here, Pressing Matters. It includes:

  • Spotlight: Five major rough suppliers...

  • Chart Check: India's Diamond trade slows...

  • The News That Matters

  • From the Trade Press

  • Coming Up

  • Pic of the Week: Poetry of the Heavens

Very few trade shows remain on my bucket list, but Watches and Wonders Geneva — which concluded this past Monday — is toward the top. As always, this year’s edition showcased impressive innovation and highly anticipated launches.
